Leopard

  • Characteristic features
    The leopards statue is more heavier build than the cheetah and reaches a shoulder height of 70cm. The colour of the fur has a light grey-brownish basic colour with black rosettes.

  • Special characteristics
    The leopard is the most common big cat on earth.

  • Hunting
    Leopards mainly hunt during the night. To prevent the prey from being taken by other predators the leopards pulls it up into trees.

  • Food
    The leopard actually eats every kind of meat. It starts with rodents and reaches up to big antelopes. The prey can be pursuided up to a distance of 3km. His prey mainly covers his water demand.

  • Life expectancy
    Leopards can reach an age of 20 years.
