Vervet Monkey
Characteristic features
The fur of the vervet monkey is grey white with a darker face. The skin of the young ones has a turquoise colour.
Special characteristics
These monkeys live in big groups of 6 to 20 animals together. To secure a safe sleep they climb into trees.
Food
Although being an omnivore the vervet monkeys mainly eat vegetarian. Leaves, flowers, berries, nuts and nodules are their favourites.
Life expectancy
Vervet monkeys can reach an age of up to 20 years.
