Who are the Cheeky Cheetahs?
The Day Care and school project "Cheeky Cheetahs" was founded enabling farm workers children to have access to some form of education, social development, hygience and healthcare.
Over the years Marieta van der Merwe and the Harnas Guest Farm have paid for several children to go to and keep attending the local Namibian schools.
Unfortunately as most of the bushmen parents on Harnas are from Nomadic descent their natural instinctive behavior to travel also causes their children to lack in proper schooling and education. We aim to use the day care as a basis for pre-school level children of our employees to receive basic overall education and school readyiness. We also aim to use the centre as a women's developement and crafts project and to fund schooling for several other children.
The first class room was the old office next to the farm house.
