Rehabilitation and Reintroduction Programme

Background

 

Harnas Wildlife Foundation has in this period developed a perfect infrastructure for rehabilitation. Of the animals that come to Harnas only 25 % are classed as releasable / re-introduceable.

Objectives:

•  Continue rehabilitating animals

•  Setting an international standard for wildlife rehabilitation

•  Releasing releasable animals into the proposed reserve

•  Monitoring and managing released animals in the reserve

•  Actively seeking more release sites for fully rehabilitated animals

•  Gain government recognition and assistance for rehabilitation efforts

 

Status:

The program started.
