The Harnas London Fundraiser Summary:

The Harnas London Fundraiser August 14th was a fantastic day. It was non-stop action!! We had 140 people attend the day with all sorts of activities, speeches, games and prizes to be won.

We updated everyone on the new projects, all the animals on the farm and the plans for the future, especially the Bushmanland project.

An amazing turn out with people attending from all over the world. It could not have gone any better! 2 Lucky volunteers won a free 2 week stay at Harnas!!!

The day wrapped up at 4.30pm we had 3 hours to get ready for the evening event. We all felt completely drained, but after a quick drink in the pub, or for Schalk a quick shot (which had been bought for him by a group of volunteers, it was called a Monkey Brain shot!) we all had a second rush of adrenaline!!

The evening kicked off with a champagne reception and an African Drumming band. We had 80 people for dinner and again Jo gave an awesome speech on Harnas. Barbara also spoke about her book launch and the star of the show John Rendall spoke on his experiences of raising Christian the Lion in London and then releasing him in Kenya.

Then onto the auction where everyone body dug deep in their pockets! Peoples generosity blew me away!!!

The night wrapped up with a bit of dancing and a lot of tears of happiness and sadness that a group of people that have come together from all around the world to be reunited once again have to go their separate ways!

It was an incredible day and I can finally reveal we have raised over £8000 profit that will go directly to the animals!!!!

All in all a big success! A Massive thank you to the family for coming all the way over from Namibia and to all the guys that helped in the run up to the event and on the day: Kirsty, Erika, Lola and Andrea! I could not have done it without you guys!

Thank you also to everyone that attended it was amazing to see so many of you there!!
